Where do I start?
Comparing Broadcast Industry with the Hunger Games, is a
homework from our Broadcast Communication Professor Ma’am Faye, the movie/
trilogy uses media to set the mind of the people in what they are supposed to
be watching and the broadcasting industry also sets the mind of its audiences
in filtering what they show in television.
The Hunger Games movie/ trilogy set the pace of their
annual competition having 24 tributes, a boy and a girl in each district. In the Capitol, their are 12 different districts with their own distinct products. The tributes are given their needs and wants and treated as a star when they where chosen as the representatives of their district. I'm afraid that from the districts they came from they didn't usually has this necessities, they trade their necessities from something unusual. In the Broadcast Industry they usually have their catchphrases, slogan or shout-outs not just to advertise but also to earn the trust of their audiences and then while the time pass it will be the answers to their needs; In The Hunger Games, "And may the odds be ever in your favor", is the catchy phrase that earns points in the viewers.
The Broadcasting Industry creates an impression to the viewers in order to have good or high ratings while the others has low rating, they should make their investors to be contented about the segment so that it will be shown and screened. The tributes are been treated as stars because the heads know it'll be screened in television and they set some rules that they must kill themselves and only one should be seen standing. The Capitol are responsible in what the citizens should think in their minds of what reality is, same in the Broadcasting Industry which shows the perceived reality when they filter their segments and show it to their viewers.
Broadcasting is a lot like other entertainment sectors. At the end of the day, the success of a broadcast outlet like a TV or radio station depends on its ability to entertain its audience, satisfy its audience's hunger for information, or both. In the Hunger games it also entertained only the people who live in the Capitol which has the capacity to eat in the right time in a right amount who are usually entertained by the annual Hunger games but not those people who watch from their different districts who felt the pains when their tribute died.

The main purpose of both is to deliver their message to
the people to show them what is perceived reality was.
Influencial, Partial and Communal.
